November 5, 2011 – Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabeties

Members of the Men’s Divorce Law Firm will be donning their sneakers and stepping out to walk to help stop diabetes.  They will help raise funds to go to finding a cure for diabetes, a disease which affects over 25.8 million Americans.  More than 130,000 walkers participate annually in the walk, the Men’s Divorce Law Firm hopes that you too can participate in helping find a cure.

Employees at the Men’s Divorce Law Firm attended the first annual Orlando Sentinel’s Pretty in Pink Martini Party at Wall Street Plaza in Downtown Orlando on Thursday October 20th.

March 20 – Inland Volleyball 5K

On Saturday, March 20, several members of the Men’s Divorce Law Firm participated in the Inland Volleyball Club 5K at Timber Creek High School. Proceeds from the event went towards players from the Inland Volleyball Club who receive financial assistance for tuition. This includes players who participate in the club, summer camps and clinics.

March 19 – Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival

Members of the Men’s Divorce Law Firm visited the 51st Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival on March 19th. The festival ran from March 19th to March 21st, and showcased over 200 artists from a variety of specialties. The firm was especially excited to see on of this year’s featured emerging artists, Richard Auger. Richard was the photographer at our Holiday Hangover Party in January, and we enjoyed seeing his other work at the festival.

March 6 – Fiddler’s Green 5K

On Saturday, March 6, over 800 people came out to support the community by participating in the 2nd Annual Fiddler’s Green 5K. The money raised from the event went to Special Olympics Florida and the YMCA Scholarship Fund. The Men’s Divorce Law Firm was happy to participate in the 5K because we enjoy getting involved in local events and giving back to the community.

March 2 – Best Buddies Networking Fundraiser

Members of the firm were in attendance at Best Buddies latest even in Central Florida that raised money to further the non-profit organization’s current and future projects. Best Buddies is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Men’s Divorce Law Firm strongly believes in community service and takes pride in knowing that our support and contributions help to positively affect others.

February 20 – Sight and Sole Walk

On February 20, three staff members from The Men’s Divorce Law Firm participated in the 23rd Annual Sight and Sole walk benefitting Lighthouse Central Florida. The organization helps local citizens with impaired vision, so Lighthouse invited participants to complete the walk blindfolded to really experience what life is like for the organization’s beneficiaries. Natalie Ramirez, our Client Relations Manager, agreed to be blindfolded and was guided by one of our legal assistants, Jennifer Bunting, through the walk.

February 19 – Orlando Ballet’s Bailamos

On February 19, 2010, the Orange County Convention Center opened its doors to greet Central Florida’s Latin community with a special fun raising event, appropriately named Bailamos (Let’s Dance). The Latin inspired show was sprinkled with many talented local and national dancers such as Katia Garza, Daniel Benavides, Chiaki Yasukawa, Patric Palkens and the nationally acclaimed former Orlando Ballet star, Israel Rodriguez. The Men’s Divorce Law Firm is a proud sponsor of the arts, and especially the Orlando Bellet. Members of the firm were in attendance and were pleased to have been part of such a unique cultural event.

December 11 – Men’s Divorce Law Firm 2009 Gift Drive

A record number of families were in need of assistance this past holiday season, and volunteers from the Men’s Divorce Law Firm worked hard to save christmas even when some families were facing job loss and eviction. The Men’s Divorce Law Firm hosted a toy drive to benefit families that would otherwise have little to celebrate during the holiday season. Kandi Crossen, Senior Paralegal in our Ocala office organized the annual event, along with other staff members from the firm. Mrs. Crossen and the staff spent Christmas day distributing gifts in the low income residential areas to those in need, both young and old.

Thanksgiving 2009 – Ocala Office Feeds the Homeless

This past Thanksgiving, the team members in our Ocala office donated their time helping to feed the homeless at the Salvation Army’s House of Hope, a homeless facility that temporarily shelters individuals and families in need. “I believe that we have all been at a place in our past where we hope to never revisit. Coming together with the community, and being a part of such an outreach, to help people in a time of their unfortunate circumstance is a reminder to me that goodness still exists regardless of the difficult economic times,” says Kandi Crossen, Senior Paralegal of the Men’s Divorce Law Firm.

November 14 – Smiles for Maggie Blood and Bone Marrow Drive

On November 14th, The Men’s Divorce Law Firm celebrated the life of Maggie Givens, a young girl who passed earlier last year from Aplastic Anemia. Blood and bone marrow donations were taken, as well as donations to a scholarship that will be held in Maggie’s name, to increase awareness about the disease.
